Edward Lawrence Johnson, 68, lifelong resident of The Valley, in Syracuse, New York died suddenly Thursday, November 5, 2009 at home. Born in Syracuse, New York, he was the son of the late William R. and Elizabeth M. (O'Connor) Johnson. He was a graduate of Valley High School. Eddie was a member of Teamsters Local 317 and retired from Van Slyke Trucking. He was a member of The Valley Men's Club, American Legion Valley Post 1468 and the Eagles Club in Port Orange, FL. He was an avid sports fan and he enjoyed drinking with the boys and fishing.

Ed is survived by his daughter, Sandy (Tony Pizzuto) Sutkus of LaFayette, New York; son, Michael E. Johnson of Syracuse, New York; sister, Kathleen Fiumano of Syracuse, New York; grandchildren, Michael, Antonio, Danielle and Kyle; great-granddaughter, Caitlyn; brother-in-law, William Hauck; sister-in-law, Peggy Johnson; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Jackie Tuminski who died September 25th; sister, Marilyn Hauck and brother, William Johnson.

Funeral Service: Monday, November 9, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York.

Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York.
