Biography
Rich passed away peacefully on his beloved farm Monday afternoon, July 19, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Queens, New York, he resided in Bayshore on Long Island, New York until 1981 when he moved his family to Otisco, New York. He then owned an apple orchard where he operated a farm stand for many years. Recently, he spent his winters with his wife in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was a Veteran and life member of DAV, in which he took great pride.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Betty; his four children, Richard Kuty Jr. (Tara), Karen McMaster (Justin), Michelle White (Christopher) and Michael Kuty (Jennifer). His pride and joy were his nine grandchildren, Eleanor & Richard Kuty III; Justin Jr., Ryan & David McMaster; Joseph & Tyler White; Sarah, Susan, (#10 on the way) Kuty.
He enjoyed bragging about his grandkids to all that would listen, racing all kinds of cars, collecting coins, playing cards, going to flea markets and mowing and maintaining his orchard. Of primary importance to him was spending time talking, reminiscing and laughing with his family and many friends that would stop by the farm.
Friends are invited to join his family at the Otisco Presbyterian Church, Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the ceremony, all are invited as we host a Celebration Of His Life on his beloved farm.
