Biography

James Michael Godzac, 58, of Pompey, New York, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at home. Jim recently retired from Crouse Hospital after 31 years as a Social Worker. He provided comfort and guidance to many patients and families. He enjoyed the Adirondacks and Myrtle Beach and considered them his second home.

Jim attended St. John's Ukrainian School and Bishop Ludden. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Brockport and his Master's Degree from The New School of NYC. Jim was a loving, giving man and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Cheryl Harmatuk Godzac; his mother, Olga Godzac; brother, John (Jan) Godzac of Denver, Colorado; sister, Lisa (Dave) King of Huston, Texas and a loving extended family.

Calling hours will be held Friday, July 30, 2010, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York with a Memorial Service to follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 31, 2010, 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes, 300 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York.
