Obituary of William T. \ Turner

William T. Turner May 13, 2015 William T. "Bill" Turner, 73, of LaFayette died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Syracuse, to the late George and Beatrice Barrett Turner. He attended Onondaga Valley Academy and enlisted in the Marine Corps and served from 1958-1962. He retired from Teamsters Local 317 in Syracuse, was also employed with JPW Riggers & Erectors, Inc. and Stephenson Equipment, Inc. during his lifetime. He served on various committees in the Town of LaFayette. He was a lifetime member of the Pompey Rod and Gun Club where he also instructed junior shooters. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather who always put family first. Anyone who knew him loved him. Bill was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence "Larry" Turner. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Mary Hartnett; daughters, Elizabeth (Randy) Bigelow, Mary Ellen (Jeff) Kramek and Kristin (Michael) McClary; brother, John (Eileen) Turner; sister, Kay Irland; and his greatest joys, his grandchildren, Ashley, Rebecca, Kimberly, Emily and Caden; as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Sunday, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette.
