Obituary of William C. Stessen

William C. Stessen, 75, of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Upstate University Hospital. Born in The Valley, he was the son of the late Robert and Marie (Kneisel) Stessen. Bill graduated from SUNY Oswego and spent 37 years as a devoted teacher, most recently teaching Technology at West Genesee School District in Camillus. In his free time, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, getting together with his coffee buddies, fishing, and softball. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Hinchman of Syracuse; son, Daniel Stessen of Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Amanda (John) Stessen-Blevins of Brooklyn, NY; sister, Kathleen (Ronald) More of Kirkville; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017, at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at the Church of St. Michael & St. Peter, 4782 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY 13215.
