Obituary of Winifred A. Miller

Winifred A. Miller, 97, of LaFayette passed away Wednesday at Wayne County Nursing Home in Lyons. She was born on August 31, 1920, the daughter of the late Walter and Gertrude Squires Scammell. Winnie was a graduate of Syracuse Business School. She worked for the US Postal Service in LaFayette for a number of years. Winnie was an 81 year member of Columbian Presbyterian Church in LaFayette, and was an Elder in the church. She enjoyed camping and spending winters in Florida. Predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters, and husband, Glenn J. Miller. Survived by: son, Gary (Lynn) of Vienna, Va. and James (Martha) of Sodus, N. Y.; grandchildren Jon Miller, Cynthia (Shamil) Miller Idriss and Amy (Milas) Smith; also survived by great grandchildren : Aniset, Nura, Makayla and Jackson, and one niece and two nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Columbian Presbyterian Church in LaFayette, N.Y. at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, followed by light refreshments at the Session Building.
