Obituary of Mary Doster

Mary Rose (Foederer) Doster, 84, a long-time resident of LaFayette, passed away at home on Sunday, June 24, 2018.

Mary was born in Syracuse to the late Mary and Joseph Foederer on April 21, 1934. She attended LaFayette Central School and was a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. Mary was also retired from the Town of LaFayette, where she was the Assessor for twenty years. Mary was a Trustee at Church of the Nativity at St. Joseph’s and was a very active member of the congregation.

Mary loved family get-togethers, time at the family camp in Booneville, and travel. She had a smile that could light up a room and was constantly on the go. She will be sorely missed by family, friends and all who knew her.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late John Doster; and is predeceased by her adored grandson, Greg Doster and her two brothers. Mary was a loving mother to sons, John (Alina), Peter (Cheryl), Dan (Valerie) and Matt (Karen); and daughter, Mary Fran (Michael) Warthen. Mary is also survived by her cherished sisters, Joan Stoddard, Jean Shenandoah and Anne Proppe; as well as her dearly loved 11 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Church of the Nativity at St. Joseph’s, 6136 US Route 20, LaFayette, NY 13084.
