Obituary of Roy W. Cooper
Leroy "Roy" W. Cooper, 84, of Onondaga Hill, NY, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 following a brief illness. Roy was born in Syracuse on February 16, 1934. He was a Teamster of the Local 317 for over 40 years driving for Santaro and Saunders for a number of years. Roy enjoyed spending time at his camp on the St. Lawrence where he fished and went boating. He was an avid bowler and loved to play golf. He always loved a good joke and was great at telling them.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne L Cooper; mother, Eleanor Armstrong Cooper.
Surviving are his daughters, Rebecca (Jim) Sleeper of Jamesville, NY and Teresa (Don) Zacharias of Kirkville, NY; sons, Philip Cooper of Syracuse, NY and David (Dina) Cooper of Atlanta, GA; two grandsons, Eric (Nicole) and Jeff Sleeper and one great-grandson, Jack. Services will be private. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the SPCA.
