Obituary of Lucie L. Cook

Lucie Lasda Cook, 89, from Tully, passed away on October 3. She raised five children [Alvah, Linda Fraizer, JoAnn (Mark) Bailey, Lenny, and the late Andrew Cook, Sr.] with her husband, Alvah D. Cook, Sr. who passed away in 2004. Together, they instilled family values, a strong work ethic, and a distinctive sense of right and wrong in their children. These "teachings" were often shared with all visitors to the Cook family household, along with countless friends of the Cook kids.

Lucie and Alvah very much enjoyed Sunday drives - which did not always occur on Sundays -  and usually ended up with an inpromptu visit to welcoming relatives.

Mrs. Cook is well-known for working many years at the Tully School cafeteria. There are countless “kids” who will never forget her for making it CLEAR to them how one behaves during lunch at school. Many teachers enjoyed their noon meal on the stage knowing their students were well supervised.

She had a special bond with her many grandchildren: De-Anne Cook of Moravia; Johnny Frazier of Lake Worth, FL; and Theresa Frazier of Loxahatchee, FL; Gretta (Jonathan) Miles of Liverpool; Dustin (Sonja) Bailey of Webster, NY; Marshall (Sara) Bailey of Clay, NY; Leonard Cook of Orlando, FL; the late Brian Cook; Shannon (Michael) Ashley of Tully; Andrew Cook of LaFayette; Steven Cook of Lafayette; and her 11 great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral will be Monday morning at 11:00 at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette.
