Obituary of Kevin Smith

Kevin M. Smith, 52, of Syracuse passed Sunday with his family by his side, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born on September 3, 1966 in Syracuse the son of the late Francis Smith and Shirley Green Barr. Kevin worked for 15 years for the City of Syracuse DOT. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, hiking, camping, and especially fishing with his sons.  Predeceased by his: parents, and his brother Gary Smith.

Survived by his loving wife of 26 years Sheila Walsh Smith; children: Dylan M. (Christina) Smith, Alec J. (Isabella Scarpone) Smith, Amanda M. (Michael Valentine) Smith, and Stephany L. Smith; his siblings: Debbie (Bruce Heaney) Culkin, Frank (Geneanne) Smith, and John (Jenifer) Smith; grandchildren: Madison, Devyn, Lillian, Elias, Logan, and Luca; step-father: Bill Barr; father in law and mother in law Robert J.and Karen A.. Walsh; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 15^th from 4-6:30pm, with a words of remembrance at 6:30 pm at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St. Syracuse.  Contributions can be made to a charity of choice.
