Donald Crysler

Obituary of Donald A. Crysler

Donald A. Crysler of LaFayette, NY peacefully passed away, and was reunited with his wife Janet, on March 12, 2019.  He was born in Marcellus, NY and went on to serve in the U.S. Army after attending Marcellus High School.  After serving our country in the Army he began work and started a family.  He worked for Dairylea for many years before eventually retiring from Niagara Mohawk.

He was a man that soaked up as much from life as he could.  Donnie was an avid golfer who loved golfing with his beloved wife, friends, and grandchildren.  He never missed a game from his loved Syracuse basketball team and New York Yankees.

Above all else he enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was a devoted husband, loving, and caring father.  Nothing brought him more joy and pride than being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His family would like to thank his countless friends who gave him so much love throughout his life, as well as the countless medical professionals who cared for Dad, Papa, and “Great Papa”.  With our greatest respect for Dr. Daniel Fuleihan.

Donald was predeceased by wife Janet Hill, grandson Steven, his mother Mabel (Bailer) Crysler.  He is survived by his children: Jeffrey (Lisa) Crysler, Debra (Denis Priest) Knapp, Cindy (Paul) Skeval, Scott (Shelly) Crysler.  His grandchildren: Amanda, Ryan and Kaylee Skeval, Robert (Jill), Valerie and Jonathon Knapp, Sydney (Rod), Jeffrey, and Johnny Crysler, and Jeremy and Alex Crysler.  His six energetic great-grandchildren: Avalin, Izabelle, Brooke, Drake, Brielle, and Brady. Finally, special family friends Lloyd and Ann Amidon.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 15th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home 2584 Field Lane LaFayette, NY 13084.  A memorial service will be held at the funeral home following calling hours.  A Spring service is planned for interment.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Aurora of Central New York.
