Obituary of James B. Dupee

Jim was 78 when he died at home surrounded by family.  He was born on July 3, 1941 in Watertown, New York to Merrill & Rosalyn (Brennon) Dupee.  The family later moved to Syracuse NY where he graduated from St. Anthony of Padua High School (1959) and got his Accounting Degree from LeMoyne College (1963).  He served his country from 1964-1970 in the 174th Air National Guard at Hancock Field.  He retired in October 2000 as an Auditor with the Office of New York State Comptroller after a distinguished 37-year career. Jim loved spending time outside in the yard, going fishing with the guys, cooking for the Boy Scouts (even after his sons gave up scouting), tailgating at Syracuse Orangemen games, spending time with friends & family, going to casinos and you could always find him at the grill cooking with a beer in his hand. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Merrill & Rosalyn (Brennon) Dupee; wife, Margaret Gallagher Dupee; brother John “Jack” Dupee, and sisters Mary Constance “Connie” Hillenbrand and Rosemary “Rosie” Jones. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his children, Brenda (Michael) Sanchez, Jamie (Stacey) Dupee, Jennifer (Greg) Kerns & Matthew (Julie) Dupee; grandchildren, Kirstin (Jerard) Carney, Justin Miles, Brennon Dupee, Christian Kerns, Ryan & Aidan Dupee, Lisa (Matt) Wiley, Jason Sanchez, Matthew (Raven) Kerns & Jessica (Cody) Albert; great grandchild, Lucas Kerns; siblings, Markie (Bryan) Rae, Cathy (Jim) Britschge and Tom (Jill) Dupee; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & many wonderful friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on October 4th at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Syracuse.
