Dear DeLuca Family :
I met Chuck many years ago after joining the Atonement Housing Corp board. Words cannot begin to express my sadness for your loss. Chuck was such a wonderful man and I truly enjoyed working with him - his knowledge and ability to recall decades-old facts will be missed during meetings but it will be his quiet sense of humor and our discussions about our kids that will be truly missed. Chuck was incredibly proud of his family and his face lit up whenever the conversation turned to family. Thank you for sharing your husband and father with us - God Bless and Rest in Peace Chuck,
Kathy Joslyn
Kathy Logan LaDuca Posted May 16, 2020 at 3:48 PM
Kathy, thank you for your kind words about Chuck. Because we live near the church and because Chuck cared so much about people who were in need whether do to income, disability, or abuse or neglect, the Atonement Housing Corporation was very important to him. Building housing that allowed low to moderate income families, people with disabilities and the elderly to live near services was so important.

On behalf of the Freedom High School Class of 1976 and our Reunion Committee, I graciously extend our sincerest and deepest condolences to the beloved wife, children and brother David of Chuck LaDuca. We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing, as just a short time ago, we were very pleased to have reconnected with him and so looked forward to seeing him at our upcoming 45th year reunion in 2021. Each passing of a classmate is indeed a sad and heartbreaking loss to many of us. On a more personal level, I have very fond memories of our childhood friend, having grown up just a few blocks away from his home and traveled with him through our entire K through 12 years at Miller Heights, Wilson, East Hills and Freedom. He was a smart, kind, caring and gentle friend to many in those years, and as we read the words of his other friends and colleagues , we smile to know he remained that way throughout his life. We never forget our neighborhood friends and classmates and the good times we had. May God's love and mercy and the prayers of the man many whose path he crossed, bring you comfort and strength during this time of great sadness. Rest in Peace Chuck. You will not be forgotten!

Kathy, Kenneth, Jeffery, and David,
So sad to hear this news. I have many fond memories of Chuck sitting in Nono's leather chair as I played peek-a-boo with him from the hallway. He always had such a good heart and it really shows in how he lived his life helping others who needed an advocate to stand up for them. He now will be watching over all of us as an angel. May he be resting at peace in the hands of our Lord. Hope we can express our sorrow in person soon.
Cousin,
Ruth Ann (LaDuca) Polizzi

Thanks, Ruth Ann. Chuck talked frequently of those Sundays at Nonna and Nonno's where there was the big Italian meal and the whole family got together. Thanks for sharing your memory. I am hoping that we will be able to have a Memorial service later this Spring or early summer.

Kathy and family,
I am so sorry for your loss and the loss to the community. I worked with Chuck for 25 years and loved his compassion and dedication to his work. We didn't always agree, and I believe he was as stubborn as I was, but his heart was always in the right place. His humor will always be remembered...gone, but never forgotten. You, your boys, and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Chuck .

Kathy Posted May 7, 2020 at 6:32 AM
Thanks, Susan. When Chuck believed something to be right not much could stop him from fighting for it. He used humor frequently - especially during times that could be tense or where people needed to relax a little and not take themselves or him quite so seriously.

Kathy, your children and other family members. So sorry for your loss. Chuck was my supervisor in CPS. More so we were friends and shared many experiences together. We were both Valley kids at heart, and I often visited his Valley Men's Club tent at the Field Days each year. In everything he did, Chuck touched the lives of others either through his warmth, sincerity, or outright humor regarding life in the trenches. A fair and objective soul whose attitudes, actions, and reactions were always in the service of others. Each time he looked at the (his) reflection in the mirror it was more than a look it was a transformation of how to live life and treat others. He will be truly missed, but will never be forgotten - he is and always will a brother in faith.

Kathy, Kenneth, Jeffrey and David--My sincere condolences on Chuck's passing.
I see that you have heard from many people who, like me, were Chuck's coworkers at CPS. It doesn't surprise me that so many remember Chuck as a friend and a man of integrity and dedication.
I saw Chuck often and was always treated with respect and warmth, even when we disagreed about how to handle a case-related matter. His good humor and consistent professionalism always shined through. He handled a job that carried great stress and responsibility with grace and courage.
I hope that you will get word out when a memorial service can be held as I will certainly attend, expecting to see many from Chuck's CPS family there to honor him.
Until then, please know that I share your sadness in missing a man who I am proud to remember as a friend.

My deepest and most sincere condolences to the LaDuca family. Having worked with Chuck these past four years and asking him to go back to the McMahon Ryan CAC to assist in helping our community's most vulnerable youth, Chuck of course jumped right in and did what needed to be done to support the team over there in doing God's work. He was a stand up guy who was always there when anyone who asked! It was an honor to be with him when he received his award from the McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center for his tireless work on behalf of children. My thoughts and prayers to the family and all friends. Rest in Peace Chuck, you will be missed.

It is with great sadness to hear about Chucks passing. He was an honorable and decent man . Having been a coworker with Chuck for almost twenty years it was evident he was dedicated to his team , CPS, the children, clients and fellow workers. It is with great regret he was unable to spend his retirement enjoying his camp and family. What Chuck accomplished in his life showed his dedication to humanity. It was a great blessing to me to have known and worked with Chuck. The pleasant memories of our relationship to him live on. Many blessings to you his loved ones whom I know he cherished.

So sorry and shocked to hear about Chuck’s sudden passing. We all worked with Chuck for over 30 some years(lots of night service shifts), went to lunch on a daily basis for all that time, played cards with him and kept in touch with him after we retired. Chuck was one of us. You could laugh with or at Chuck and he would give it right back to you.
Chuck’s dedication to his family, job and community was well known. Not many people would give up a weeks vacation every year in order to volunteer at the Valley Field days but Chuck was that type of guy. He would do anything for you. Please know that Chuck will always remain in our thoughts and in our hearts. He was a dear friend and we miss him terribly.

Thanks, guys! He would love it if you would have another card game in his memory. He loved them so much! Also loved going out to lunch with you. That was a downside when retirements started and when he moved out of the Civic Center. It wasn’t quite as easy. I know how much he enjoyed being with all of you. Thanks for being such good friends!
