Jay Fredenburg

Obituary of Jay M. Fredenburg

Jay “Jerry” M. Fredenburg, 74, passed away on Tuesday morning after suffering from a massive stroke.  His wife, Terri was by his side as he passed peacefully in the night.
Jerry was a loving and devoted Husband,  Father, and Grandfather “Papa,” and always made sure his family was taken care of. He was a member of the LaFayette Optimist Club, was very well known and respected in the LaFayette community, owned his own construction company,  and was an avid boater in the 1000 Islands.
Jerry had a passion for boating and was always happiest out on the water cruising around the islands or anchored out with friends.  His “River” friends were his second family. He loved diving into projects and working with his hands.   It didn’t matter how big or small the project was, it was a guarantee that it would always be the “biggest.”  This also rang true for all of his toys too.  He loved four wheelers, dirt bikes, motorcycles, and any piece of large equipment that could provide a thrill.  When his children were young he would always be the first one in line for every rollercoaster and water slide- the bigger and more dangerous the better.
The loving memory of Jay “Jerry” Fredenburg will be forever cherished by  his wife Terri, his daughter Jacci, his two sons Todd and Jeff, and  his Grandson Jacob. He is also survived by his two sisters Elaine (Leyland) Lewis and Sandra Stock as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday June 16th at 1pm at Onondaga Valley Cemetary.

The family will be receiving friends and family immediately following services at their home in LaFayette.
