Obituary of John Frank Rudd, Sr.
John “Jack” Frank Rudd, Sr., 82, of Syracuse, passed away on June 16, 2020. He was born in Syracuse in January 1938 to the late Lester M. and Hilda (Staab) Rudd. Jack worked at Crucible Steel for over 40 years, and was a member of the United Steel Workers’ Union. He was an avid outdoorsman; and was involved with the Elmwood Fish and Game Club. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge.
“Jack” is predeceased by his daughter, Denise Freeman; siblings, Elmer Rudd, Marilyn McGrail, and Bob Rudd. He is survived by: Judy Tompkins Rudd, who spent over 60 years of their lives together; sons, Randy (Kim) and John (Penny); six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 23, from 11 am to 1 pm, at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Syracuse. A funeral service will immediately follow. Online condolences for “Jack’s” family may be left on the funeral home website.
