Obituary of Laura Alice Teeter

Laura Alice Teeter, 85 of Nedrow, died Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Iroquois Nursing Home, after a short stay.

 

Laura was a retired housekeeper from Community General Hospital in Syracuse. She loved to watch SU basketball games and Nascar racing. Her favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt, Sr., and Martin Truex, Jr. Laura’s passion was flower gardening and feeding birds, especially hummingbirds.

 

She was the daughter of the late Ruby Louise Breece (Moyer); and the widow of her beloved Richard Lewis Teeter, who was taken away from her too soon. Laura also had two sons that preceded her in death: Mark James Teeter (2003), and in July of this year, Lester Bloom Teeter.

 

She is survived by: her sister, Cheryl (Merle) Bair; brother, Rodney  (Barb) Moyer; her sons: David (Tina) Teeter, Sr., and Raymond Teeter Sr.; Grandchildren: David (Tonya) Teeter, Jr., Daphne (Mike) Sweeney, Jessica (John) Nearhood, Jeffrey (Chrissy) Teeter, Sr., Raymond (Melissa) Teeter, Jr., Amy Rooker, and Christina Teeter; daughter in law, Donna S. Miller; many great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; nurses; and special caregivers: Kim Sears, Jackie Zook and Shawna Fitzgerald. She loved, and was so loved, by all of her family and friends.

 

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday November 14, 2020, from 10 am to 12 noon, at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St., Syracuse, NY. A funeral service will follow. Burial will be at Willow Glen Cemetery in Dryden. Online condolences for Laura’s family may be left on the funeral home website.
