Obituary of Mauri Lee George

Mauri Lee (Flip) George, 70, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, NY. Mauri was born January 21, 1950 to the late Patricia and Robert George Sr. He Graduated from LaFayette High School, joined the U.S. Marine Corp. and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. Mauri was a member of the Onondaga Nation Snipe Clan. He is pre-deceased by his brothers Joseph and Robert Jr. He is survived by his wife of 48 Years, Mary C. George, a daughter Danielle George; son Joseph Steadman; Brothers Mark D. (Pat) George and Shawn Jones; Sisters Pamela (Danny) Everingham, Pathenia "Trudi" (Tom) Shenandoah, Michelle (Wes) Thomas and Francine George; two grandchildren Rayven and Kayla George; uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a limited viewing will be held at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home 4612 S. Salina St. Syracuse, NY 13205 on Sunday, Dec. 6th from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon. A military burial will follow in the spring. A date for the ceremony will be announced at that time.
