Obituary of Cynthia L. Perdue

Cynthia L. Perdue, 77, of Kirkville, passed away on December 11, 2020. She was born in Syracuse, NY to the late Alex T. and Mary Jane (Bowers) Deer. She was a proud member of the Beaver Clan of the Onondaga Nation.

After graduating high school, Cyndy married (the late) Barry “Mike” Perdue, and together they started a family. As a military family they moved around often, living in Japan for three years, and then in/around Maryland. Cyndy was known as the “Patsy Cline of the family”, and regularly sang at the NCO Club in Japan. In 2000 Cyndy settled back in Syracuse to enjoy time with her family. She loved shopping at the thrift store, and playing with her dogs. She was a classy lady who knew how to dress, and was always on the go. Cyndy was a loving woman who gave of herself constantly. She taught her children and family to be selfless. She was a wonderful grandmother.

Cyndy is survived by: her children, Cynthia L. Troutman, of Kirkville; and Clinton L. Perdue, of the Bahamas; siblings: Rodney Crane, Alex, John, Andy, and Tom Deer, Alice Thompson, Lucille Thain, Ophelia Mitchell, and Patty Sauer; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Two sets of calling hours will be held on Monday, December 21 from 10 am to 12 Noon, and 2 pm to 4 pm; at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Syracuse. Online condolences for Cyndy’s family may be left on the funeral home website.
