Obituary of Leland Prouty

Leland Prouty, 96, a lifetime Central New York resident, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2020. Leland was a loving spouse, father of 2, and grandfather. He was predeceased by his mother Venus and father Harvey and 13 siblings. He is survived by Sharon (his wife of 64 years), daughter Laura, son Andrew and grand-children Dallas and Alekzander.

Lee enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corp before joining the Army Infantry to serve his country in World War 2. After the conclusion of WW2, he returned to Central NY where he worked for Onondaga Pottery, Easy Washer, Potter Real Estate, and Key Bank.

Lee was a member of the Interdenominational Fellowship during the 1950’s where he met his soon to be wife, Sharon. He enjoyed bowling in the Easy Washer League. Lee was a much loved baseball coach for Elmwood Little League, and a bus driver and chaperone for the 76’ers Drum and Bugle Corps. Lee and Sharon enjoyed travelling after retirement to Alaska, Mayan Ruins, Hawaii, Canada, Disney World in Florida, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
