Obituary of Douglas C. Ratliff

Douglas C. Ratliff, 59, of DeRuyter, NY passed away peacefully on January 3, 2021 with his two daughters by his side.  He attended Open Door Baptist Church and loved the Lord.  He was an avid hunter, pitch player, fisherman and loved the outdoors.  He was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan.  He retired from CSX Railroad as a conductor with 20 years of service.  He is predeceased by his parents, Oliver W. Ratliff Sr. and Cecile M. Ratliff; two brothers, Oliver Ratliff Jr. and Gregory Ratliff; and a sister, Carol James.

He is survived by two daughters, Cassandra Ratliff and Rachel (Jacob Cross) Ratliff; a son, Beau Janack; a grandson, Gabriel Rogers; six siblings, David Ratliff Sr., Mary Dority, Jeffrey Ratliff, James Ratliff, Donna Ratliff and Sandy Cline-Refermat; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hour will be Thursday, January 7th from 11AM to 12noon at Open Door Baptist Church, New Woodstock, NY.  Services will be 12noon at the church.  Ballweg & Lunsford entrusted with services.

Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
