Obituary of Carol C. Thousand

Carol C. Thousand, 74, of Onondaga Hill passed away on January 6, 2021 due to COVID-19 at SUNY Upstate.

Born December 1946 to Carl and Mildred Christensen, Carol worked as a beautician and therapy aide at Syracuse Developmental Center where she met her husband, Harold R. Thousand Jr. It was love at first sight and later they were married April 1976. Carol had a great sense of humor that allowed her to be a great wife, mother and teacher. She was kind, a great listener and showed unconditional love to everyone which made her list of friends nearly endless. In her later years, she often spoke eagerly of meeting her savior and heavenly father and is now worshipping him eternally.

Surviving Carol are: her husband of 44 years, Harold R. Thousand Jr.;son, Harold R Thousand III; sister, Connie (Veryl) Briglin; niece and nephews, Brenda L. Harwood, Scott Hemmes, Jeanne Ford, Rick Hemmes; and their children Heather, Bethany, Tyler, Nolan and Seth Hemmes. Special thanks and love to Pam Austin who was her steadfast friend and helper in her last years.

A virtual memorial service in her honor will be held on Friday January 22, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Grace Assembly of God on Fay Road in Syracuse, NY- with the option to attend in-person with proper social distancing and following the state ordinance.
