Obituary of Dorothy B. Koons

Dorothy B. Koons 86 of Lafayette New York went to be home with the Lord on 02/02/2021. Leaving behind her lifelong love and husband of 72 years, Elmer Elwood Koons Sr. She was Born in Shamokin PA, but lived most of her life in Lafayette New York. She will be loved and missed by her four daughters and two sons.  Harry (Debbie) Koons, Debbie (John) Thomas, Gail (Michael) Clemens, Daphanie (Titus Johnson) Koons, Elmer (Vickie) Koons and Melissa (Mark) Atkinson.  She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed cooking and baking homemade breads and goodies for her family. She loved crocheting and embroidering. She shared her love by giving care as a CNA for over 35 years. After ending up in Van Duyn Nursing Home she enjoyed visits from her family and friends. But she also enjoyed the company of anyone who found the time to pop in just to say hello.  However, there was no visit more special than the everyday visit of her husband, who made it his business to be there every single day regardless of the weather. We will all miss you mom!, but each and every one of us have a special memory of you that we will hold close to our heart until we see you again. You lived a long and happy life and was blessed with a beautiful family who you loved and gave your heart to.
