Obituary of Richard Kenneth Schoeck

Richard K. “Dick” Schoeck, 88, of Bernhards Bay, passed away on May 10, 2021. He was born in Syracuse, NY to the late Paul and Theresa Schoeck. After graduating from Central Tech High School, he went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Cornell University.

Dick served his country in the U.S. Army, and spent most of his life building custom homes in the Winkworth Parkway area. After retiring, Dick continued his engineering work in Bernhards Bay, and recently devoted much of his time to wildlife rehabilitation.  He was recognized as a Master Gardener in 1997, and was involved with the Tug Hill for Tomorrow Land Trust. He was involved in creating the Education Building at the West Amboy Nature Center, that he dedicated to his parents. Dick was a proud member of the German American Society, and the Masons.

Dick is survived by: his children, Kenneth (Susan), Linda (Kevin) Deon, Steven (Jean), John (Dawn), Kara (Steve) Robson; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He is predeceased by: wife, Dianna; brother, Paul F. Schoeck; and daughter, Christine.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 13 from 4 pm to 7 pm, at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, LaFayette. A Funeral service will follow at 7 pm.
