



Obituary of Thelma May O'Malley
Thelma M. O’Malley, 96, of Liverpool, passed away on July 28th, at The Francis House with her loving family by her side. She was born in Scranton, PA May 16, 1925 to William and Lena Eden. Thelma moved to Syracuse in 1941 where she met the love of her life John O’Malley. The two were married in 1945 on New Year’s Day and were married for 68 years until his passing in 2013. She will be remembered by her family as a very unselfish, loving and caring matriarch. Thelma retired as the manager from the Ida Benderson Senior Center craft shop after many years of service.
She is predeceased by her parents; husband; John, daughter; Hilda Lasky, grandchildren; David and Deborah Lasky, brother; William Eden and sister; Betty Martin.
Thelma is survived by her, son; Anthony O’Malley, daughter; Jacqueline Noll; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, August 3rd at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St., Syracuse.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 4th at 11 AM at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 4845 S. Salina St., Syracuse.
Burial will be private in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
