Obituary of Dorinda B. Finch

Dorinda B. (Field) Finch, 73, of LaFayette, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, after a long illness, surrounded by family and friends.

She was born on September 28, 1948 in Syracuse, NY to the late Arnold and Thelma (Bush) Field. For the first half of her life she lived close to family and friends, until her move to Evansville in 1986. She was married to her high school sweetheart for 52 years, Richard F. Finch (2019)- who was the love of her life.

Her greatest joys were her children, various pets, their camp on Lake Ontario, and the splendor of nature, most notably, butterflies. Dorinda enjoyed reading, and picnicking with her family. She was known for her sweet personality and her eggs on toast!

Surviving are: her children, Melissa B. Finn and Richard F. Finch II, both of LaFayette; and brothers, Travis Field and Roy Cook of LaFayette. Along with her parents and husband, Dorinda is predeceased by: siblings, Robert, Arthur, and Linda Cross.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday October 16 from 11 am to 1 pm, at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, LaFayette, NY. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm. The family asks to consider memorial donations in Dorinda’s name to: Humane Society of CNY: https://www.humanecny.org/.
