Obituary of Mary Fanny (Zappola) Guhin

Mary Zappola Guhin, 91, of Syracuse, peacefully passed away on November 1, 2021 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law.  Mary was a lifelong resident of the Valley and a member of Our Lady of Hope Church for 65 years. Mary volunteered at St. James in various capacities. She retired from Bob’s True Value and Betts Branch library. She was an avid world traveler, card and buncko player, and enjoyed lunching at the Cecile Center. 

Mary was predeceased by her husband John and great-granddaughter Jocelyn.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lee (Don) Sweet; sons, John (Kip) Guhin, and Tracy (Gina) Guhin; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

Calling hours will be Thursday, November 4th, from 4 to 7 PM at Ballweg & Lunsford funeral home, 4612 S. Salina St. Syracuse, NY 13205. Funeral will be Friday at 11 AM at Our Lady of Hope. 4845 S. Salina St. Syracuse, NY 13205. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
