Obituary of Althea "Pat" P. Peterson

Althea "Pat" Peterson Passed away June 28th 2022. She was born in Kingston, Jamaica. January 27th 1938. She then moved to London, England to study nursing, where she met her future husband, Eddie "Pete" Peterson who served in the Air force for this country. They moved to the USA, where Pat went on to earn her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Syracuse University in Education. 

She then went on to work for the Syracuse City School District for over 20 years. Those years were spent teaching English class at Levy Middle School and the majority at Nottingham High School. She was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and a faithful member of All Saints Church. She loved to read and write short stories during her retirement. Family, faith, and community were her pillars she stood on. She was devoted to all equally, and will be remembered by so many former students and friends, and anyone who had the opportunity to know her. 

She is survived by her sons, David and Darrell Peterson; her grandchildren, Taylor Hughes, Darrell Peterson Jr. and Simon Peterson; her great grandchildren, India and Mason Hughes; she will be missed by her 6 sisters and her brother, and many nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 10-11AM at All Saints Church, 1340 Lancaster Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13210.  Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 11am.
