Shirley Marshall

Obituary of Shirley J. Marshall

Shirley (Taylor) Marshall, 90, was received by the Lord early in the morning on July 16, 2022, with loved ones by her side. She was born in Syracuse, NY to the late G. Harold and Pernella (Bloss) Taylor; and spent most of her life in the Valley area. She attended Van Dyne Elementary School, and then graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy in 1949. After graduating, she went to become an Executive Secretary  for Niagara Mohawk.  When her children were grown she started SJM Productions, where she designed, setup, and ran the Home Builders’ “Home and Garden Show” for 26 years. Shirley was highly respected and thought of in the building community during that era. She was a gentle and loving person, who cared about the well being of her family, friends, neighbors, and all those in need. She was a giving soul, and truly loved her cats, birds, squirrels, and chipmunks- that knew they would be fed all year long on her back deck. Her most favorite was the family gathering at her house on Christmas Eve. Every year the home was filled with joy and laughter- creating memories of the closeness of family and friends.

Along with her parents, Shirley is predeceased by: her sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and David Hoyt.

She is survived by: her brothers, Richard H. (Lorie) Taylor, 91, of Newport, VT, and Thomas E. (Bonnie) Taylor, 78, of Weedsport, NY; her two children, Scott Marshall, also of Weedsport, and Kristine Marshall-Kropf, of Erieville, NY; two grandsons, Gregory Marshall of Boulder, CO, and Bradley Marshall of Weedsport, NY; several nieces, and nephews.

There are no services at this time. The family asks to consider memorial donations in Shirley’s name to the Alzheimer's Association, or your local Dementia Organization. Bless Shirley for all the love and tenderness she gave to us all during her special time on this earth.
