Obituary of Celeste Carmack Smith

Celeste Carmack Smith, 87, of Fayetteville, NY, died Monday, November 28, 2016, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, NY, after a short illness. Born in Atlantic City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Helen (Kirby) Carmack. Celeste was a graduate of Syracuse University and was an active Alumni and mega Syracuse University sports fan. She worked for many years at Bristol-Myers Squibb until her retirement in 1982. Celeste was very athletic person. She played several sports and was on many sport teams at Bristol. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, skiing and playing tennis. Celeste is survived by her brother, Jim Carmack (Kitty) of Virginia Beach, VA; Goddaughter, Mary Kristen Morris of Syracuse, NY; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predecased by her husband, Herbert T. Smith, and brother, Mark K. Carrmack and his wife Betsy. A Mass in remembrance of Celeste will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs Road, Fayetteville, NY 13066, on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. Services and burial will be in the Spring in Atlantic City, NJ.
