Obituary of James Hamilton

James Hamilton, Jr., 56, of Camillus, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018, at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he was the son of the late James J. Hamilton, Sr. and Janet McDonald Hamilton. James became a US citizen in 1975. He worked in the maintenance department at Boorum & Pease in Syracuse, and also worked maintenance for Syracuse City School District. James is survived by his sons, James Hamilton III, Scott Hamilton, and Michael Hamilton; step-children, Clifford McColley, Chris McColley, John Terry and Tara McColly; and sisters, Margaret (Joe) Leonard, Ann Frances Hamilton and Elizabeth Gibson. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Marion and Christine Hamilton. A calling hour will be held Monday, February 5, 2018, from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Most Holy Rosary, 111 Roberts Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13207. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
