Obituary of Alice D. Ackles

Alice Davis Sharpe Ackles, age 89, of Syracuse, New York died Thursday, November 28, 2002 at Community General Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Alice was born March 26, 1913 in Utica, New York, the daughter of Tracy M. and Louise (Latimore) Davis. She was a graduate of Central High School. She worked for Syracuse Builders Exchange as a secretary, retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Paul?s United Methodist Church, Eastern Star 433, United Methodist Women and was a charter member and past president of Valley VIPs. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald G. Sharpe, September 3, 1974 and her second husband, Melvin Ackles, February 11, 1998. She is survived by a nephew, Donald Davis of Baldwinsville, New York; two nieces, Caroline Davis of Syracuse, New York and Kathryn Marple of Cicero, New York. Funeral: Tuesday, December 10, 2002, 11:30 a.m. in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with Rev. Harold Bruen officiating. Private Burial: Cardiff Cemetery, Cardiff, New York.
