Obituary of Walter Edward Casolare

Walter Edward Casolare Sr., age 66, of Marietta, New York died Thursday, November 14, 2002 at home. Walter was born January 26, 1936 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Edward and Erma (Beck) Casolare. He graduated from North Syracuse High school. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1988 as the head mechanic from the town of Salina after 22 years and he retired in 1998 as a mechanic from the Onondaga Central School District after 10 years. He was a member of the Mattydale Veterans of Foreigh Wars and a communicant of Corpus Christi Church. Mr. Casolare is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol A. (Kovalewski) Casolare; six sons, Walter E. Casolare of Tully, New York, Paul D. Casolare of Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, Daniel P. Casolare of South Onondaga, New York, Thomas W. Casolare of Homer, New York, Timothy C. Casolare of Navarino, New York and Andrew W. Casolare of Marietta, New York; four sisters, Irma Varre of Tampa, Florida, Diane Twiss of Syracuse, New York, Mary Lou Coon of North Syracuse, New York and Sandy Transue of Buffalo, New York; three brothers: Edward Casolare of Marcellus, New York, Ronald Casolare and David Casolare both of West Monroe, New York; eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Pitcher. Funeral: Monday, November 18, 2002, 10:15 at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., and 11:00 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, 4468 South Onondaga Road, South Onondaga, New York, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Father Dennis Hayes and Father Gerald Buckley.
