Obituary of Genevieve M. Doud

Genevieve M. "Gen" Doud, age 90, of Syracuse, New York died Saturday, November 9, 2002 at Community General Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Genevieve was born June 5, 1912 in Waverly, New York, the daughter of Daniel J. and Margaret (Murphy) Limerick. She was the wife of Lucien H. Doud who died in 1956. She received her undergraduate degree from Mansfield State Teachers College, Mansfield, Pennsylvania Class of 1934 and she did her graduate work at Syracuse University receiving a Masters in Special Education. She retired in 1977 as a teacher with the Syracuse City School District after 20 years. She was a communicant of St. James Church and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association and the Franklin School Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Doud is survived by two daughters, Nancy M. Schullery of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Jean D. McLellan of Glens Falls, New York; three sons, Bruce E. Doud of Schenectady, New York, James W. Doud of Naples, Florida and John R. Doud of Goldsboro, North Carolina; one brother, Robert Limerick Sr. of Las Vegas, Nevada; 12 grandchildren, 16 Great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Mary Lou Owens, died in 1991. Funeral: Tuesday, November 11, 2002, 10:15 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeal Home, Inc., and 11:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina St., Syracuse, New York, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Father Daniel J. O'Hara. Burial: St. Mary's Mausoleum, 4100 East Genesee Street, Dewitt, New York.
