Obituary of John Daniel Milicich

John Daniel "Dan" Milicich, age 62, of Marietta, New York died Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, New York. John was born December 6, 1939 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Stephen and Pauline (Patell) Milicich. He graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy. He was employed by Dunk & Bright Furniture Company as a Supervisor of the Display Department for 36 years and he retired in 1998 after 26 years as Captain for the Syracuse Fire Department. He was the Fire Commissioner for Otisco and Amber Volunteer Fire Departments. He was the reciepant of the Local 280 Valor Award in July 1993, the EMS Certificate of Merit in July 1996, the Jenkins Medal in August 1996 and the 2001 Fire Fighter of the year from Amber Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Retired Fire Fighters Association. He was a Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Milicich, February 23, 2002 and a brother, Stephen M. Miclicich, April 19, 1982. Mr. Milicich is survived by his wife of 43 years, Charlene Womble Milicich; one daughter, Deborah Milicich of Bridgeport, New York; two sons, Mark Milicich of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Danny Milicich of Baldwinsville, New York; his mother, Pauline Patell of Syracuse, New York; one sister, Suzanne Brennan of Cazenovia, New York; one brother, Timothy Milicich of Portland, Oregon; three grandchildren. Funeral: Saturday, November 2, 2002, 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Route 80, Otisco, New York with Father Denny Hayes officiating. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York. Calling Hours: Friday, November 1, 2002, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S.
