George Scheftic, Jr., age 72, of Jamesville, New York died Friday, September 13, 2002 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, New York. George was born February 9, 1930 in Syracuse, New York, the son of George and Anna (Pishko) Scheftic. He was a graduate of Onondaga Valley High School and he earned an Agricultural degree from Morrisville College. He was a self-employed dairy farmer for most of his life and he retired in 1992 from Morris Manufacturing. His first wife, Roselle, died in 1993. He is survived by his wife of five years, Carolyn Broeker Scheftic; three daughters, Donna M. Chase of LaFayette, New York, Christine Naples and Susan Scheftic-Proctor both of Jamesville, New York; a stepdaughter, Michelle Broeker of Clay, New York; two sons: George M. Scheftic of LaFayette, New York and Peter J. Scheftic of Jamesville, New York; a stepson, Michael Broeker of New Rochelle, New York; two sisters, Irene Alexander of Dryden, New York and Catherine Talley of Brownfield, Texas; one brother, Charles Scheftic of Jamesville, New York; seven grandchildren. Funeral: Tuesday, September 17, 2002, 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 6437 E. Seneca Turnpike, Jamesville, New York with Father Raymond B. Wood officiating. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, 4100 E.
