Obituary of Donald B. Pendergast

Donald B. Pendergast, age 92, of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania died Friday, August 9, 2002 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mr. Pendergast was born May 3, 1910 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Percy and Eva (Ballard) Pendergast. He formerly lived at 119 Crippen Avenue, Syracuse, before moving to the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area in May of 2000 to be closer to his daughter. He retired from Crouse-Hinds Company in 1975 after 40 years of service and formerly worked for Keiffer Brothers. He was a member of St. Paul?s United Methodist Church, a 50-plus years member of the Empire State Masons, Konosioni Lodge #950, member of the Oneida Lake Association and was an avid Central New York fisherman. He was in the New York State National Guard form 1927 to 1930. He was known for answering "fair to middlin" when asked how he was doing. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Grace (Cuykendall) Pendergast; one daughter, Ginny (Pendergast) Nolin of Coraopolis, Pennsylvnia; seven grandchildred and nine great-grandchildren. His son, Donald E. Woods passed away February 1996. Funeral: Wednesday, August 14, 2002, 2:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Harold Bruen officiating.
