Obituary of Stephen J. Carbacio

Stephen John Carbacio, age 79, of Dewitt, New York died Monday, July 1, 2002 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, New York. Mr. Carbacio was born July 14, 1922 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Vito and Angelina (Fedele) Corbacio. He was a graduate of North High School and attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received an Associates Degree in Diesel Engineering. He retired in 1979 as a supervisor at Prestolite after 37 years. He was a former member of the Lyons Club and a former Union Leader of UAW-CIO. He was a Navy veteran of World War II where he served on the USS Quillback. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Ann (Matteson) Carbacio; one daughter: Marsha Phillips-McKittrick of Dewitt, New York; one son: Mark V. Carbacio of Dewitt, New York; four sisters: Mary Casella of Oneida, New York, Rose DiFasi of Syracuse, New York, Antonette Deyneka of Auburn, New York and Elena Carbacio of Syracuse, New York; two brothers: Sam Carbacio of East Syracuse, New York and Cosimo Corbacio of Syracuse, New York; three grandchildren. Funeral: Friday, July 5, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. with Father Robert Dwyer officiating. Burial: White Chapel Memory Gardens, Kinne Road, Dewitt, New York.
