Obituary of Clarence E. Erway

Clarence E. Erway, age 82, formerly of Rider Avenue, Syracuse, New York died Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Mr. Erway was born November 23, 1919 in Owego, New York, the son of Creditt and Edith (Mead) Erway. He graduated from Owego Free Academy. He retired in 1984 from Bristol Laboratories, Syracuse after 35 years. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club and was a volunteer at the Rescue Mission for several years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Nettie Van DeWalker Erway who died in 1990. He is survived by three daughters: Karen Lanning from Marcellus, New York, Linda Henderson from Fremont, California and Cindy Erway from North Syracuse, New York; one son: Kevin Erway from Liverpool, New York; three half sisters, Carol Bouck from Cherry Valley, New York, Sandra Nichols from Afton, New York and Jeanetta Burroughs from Roxbury, New York; three half brothers, Creditt Erway from Jefferson, New York, Herold Erway from Cherry Valley, New York and Roger Erway from Cooperstown, New York; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral: Saturday, June 15, 2002, 2:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. John W. Kloepfer officiating. Burial: White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt, New York.
