Obituary of Barbara J. Theobald

Barbara Jean Theobald, age 70, of Buffington Road, Dewitt, New York died Monday, April 29, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, New York. Dr. Theobald was born December 17, 1931 in Syracuse, the daughter of W. Winterton and Frances (Bingel) Day. She was a life resident of the Syracuse area. She had a bachelor?s and master?s degree in Nursing from Syracuse University. Later in life, at the age of 60, not as a matter of career advancement, but as a means of personal enrichment, she earned a doctorate in Anthropology/Social Sciences from Syracuse University. Education was something she supported and believed in deeply. She was a professor at Syracuse University?s School of Nursing and Dean of Keuka College?s School of Nursing. She summered on Thousand Island Park, New York. She was a member of the Dewitt Bridge Club and volunteered with the Literacy Volunteers. She is survived by her four sons: William W. Theobald from Marietta, New York, John R. Theobald from Syracuse, New York, Stephen C. Theobald from Thousand Island Park, New York and Robert P.
