Obituary of Arthur W. Steier

Arthur W. Steier, age 83, of Syracuse, New York died Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at Community General Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Mr. Steier was born March 14, 1919 in Louisville, Kentucky the son of Frank and Josephine (Muichenhager) Steier. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a bricklayer for the Bricklayers Union Local 2 and he owned several diner restaurants in the Syracuse area. He was a member and past Post Commander of American Legion Post 1468, past County Legion Commander and past Legion 5th District Commander. He was chosen 1994 Legionnaire of the Year by the Onondaga County American Legion. He was a 50 year member and past president of Nedrow Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife Adelina; two sons: Arthur F. Steier from Little York, New York and Edward A. Steier from Ballwin, Missouri; two sisters: Mary Kay Steier and Bernadine Felts both from Louisville, Kentucky; two grandchildren. Funeral: Saturday, March 30, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse with Father Daniel J. O'Hara officiating. Burial: Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse, New York Calling Hours: Friday, March 29, 2002, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., Syracuse.
