John W. "Jack" Barnes, Jr., age 64, of 140 Merritt Avenue, Syracuse, New York died Sunday, February 10, 2002 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Syracuse. Mr. Barnes was born September 9, 1937 in Syracuse, New York, the son of John W. and Helen (Moore) Barnes. He served in the Army during the Vietnam war years. He was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of Teamsters Local Union 317, American Legion Valley Post 1468 and a former communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Mooney; two daughters: Julie Barnes from Syracuse, New York and Jacqueline Barnes from Memphis, New York; two sisters: Shirley Barnes from Syracuse, New York and Sharon Campany from Easton, Pennsylvania; five brothers: George Barnes, James Barnes and Paul Barnes all from Syracuse, New York, Joseph Barnes from Glenmont, New York and Robert Barnes from Buffalo, New York; 5 grandchildren. Funeral: Wednesday, February 13, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse with Father Robert Chryst officiating. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling Hours: Tuesday, February 12, 2002, 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse.
