Obituary of Alexander D. Fernandez

Alexander D. Fernandez, age 77, of 10 Costello Court, Syracuse, New York died Sunday, February 3, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse. Mr. Fernandez was born July 18, 1924 in Massena, New York, the son of Nicholas and Marion (Benedict) Thomas. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He worked for various construction companies in the Syracuse area. He was a member of the Marine Raiders Association. He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Barbara Herne from Syracuse, New York; one daughter: Retha Fernandez from Florida; three sons: Kevin R. Fernandez from Nedrow, New York, Michael Fernandez and Donald Fernandez; 11 grandchildren. Funeral: Wednesday, February 6, 2002, 1:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse with Father James D. Mathews officiating. Burial: Onondaga Nation Cemetery, Onondaga Nation. Calling Hours: Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
