Obituary of Margaret C. Luke

Margaret C. Luke, age 84, of Tamarack Drive, South Berwick, Maine and formerly of Syracuse, New York died Thursday, December 20, 2001 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dover, New Hampshire. Mrs. Luke was born April 14, 1917 in Brewster, New York, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Holloway) Mergardi. She lived in Syracuse until one year ago when she she moved to Maine. She was a graduate of Syracuse University where she was a member of the Phi Kappa. She was a school teacher for many years in the Syracuse City School District. She was a communicant of St. Michael?s Church in South Berwick, Maine and was previously a communicant of St. Michael?s Church in Syracuse, New York. She is survived by three daughters: Ellen McGregor from South Berwick, Maine, Kathryn McAninch from Waterloo, Indiana and Mary Fahle from Cary, North Carolina; three sons: Richard J. Luke from Milford, Massachusetts, Peter C. Luke from Muskegon, Michigan and George M. Luke from LaFayette, New York; 17 Grandchildren, 17 Great-grandchildren. Her Husband, George A. Luke died in 1977. The funeral will be Friday, December 28, 2001, 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 4782 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Father Vincent Kilpatrick. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt, New York. Calling hours will be Sunday, December 23, 2001 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the McIntire-McCooey funeral Home, 301 Main Street, South Berwick, Maine where evening prayers will be offered by Father H. J. Cameron, Pastor of St. Michael's Church, South Berwick, Maine. Calling hours will also be held Thursday, December 27, 2001, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S.
