Obituary of Donald James Richman

Donald J. Richman, 73, of Marietta, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 27, 2017. Born in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Donald John and Jane (Moore) Richman. Don spent much of his working life in quality control at Rollway Bearing in Liverpool, NY. He married his loving wife of 52 years, the former Linda Haumann, in 1965. Don was past master of Masonic Lodge #896 in Tully, NY, bagpiper in the American Scottish Pipe Band, volunteer firefighter for Otisco Fire Department, and volunteer ambulance driver for Otisco and Amber. He was an avid gunsmith and enjoyed woodworking and camping. More than anything, Don loved spending time with his family. He was very upbeat and overcame every obstacle in life without ever losing his positivity. In addition to his wife, Linda, Don is survived by his son, Donald (Stephanie) Richman of Tully, NY; grandchildren, Kyle, Nate and Gabby; cousin, Raymond Anderson of Nedrow, NY; brothers-in-law, Darryl (Shirley) Haumann of Tully, NY and Dick (Elaine) Haumann of Navarino, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 29, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse, NY.
