Obituary of Howard Frederick Shute
Howard Frederick Shute, 91, of LaFayette, NY, passed away surrounded by his family on February 28, 2018, while visiting his son in Kansas City, KS. Howard was an extraordinary father and grandfather, and was loved by all who knew him. He served in the US Navy Seabees in Attu, Alaska. In 1963, he was cofounder of LaFayette Well Drilling and ran the family business until retiring at the age of 78.
Howard was predeceased by his son, Noel; wife, Lillian; brothers, Walter, John, Harold and Paul; and sisters, Anne Fleming, Bertha Smirco and Ruth Shetler.
Howard is survived by his sons, Howard (Bev), Neil (Jeanne), Mark (Judy), and Scott (Becky); sister, Eva Palmer; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with family at the LaFayette Alliance Church on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
