Jan and I were close friends during her time in Houston. She was loyal, compassionate, and brave. She loved nature and camping, and we had many adventures at the beach and in the Texas Hill Country. Jan was creative and an excellent craftsperson. Her cooking skills were amazing, and anytime she brought a dish to dinner, you knew it would be the best one on the table. She was the friend who would stay up with you all night partying, or sit with you all night while you cried. My heart goes to her family, and my wishes for you to be comforted by your memories of her as you deal with this terrible loss.

I met Jan through her sister, Donna, in the '70's. We were instant friends because Jan was very open and engaging. In the 90's we took motorcycle rides together and we often talked by phone about helping others with their struggles in life. She was a bright light on this earth. I will miss her.

I have suffered a great loss. My travel companion in the finger lakes home care back 10 years ago we stayed in touch by phone always and forever. We worked for visiting nurses of Utica and Oneida county for a season as well as travelers in 2017. She came to our flea market last summer in Pulaski just to visit me. I just loved the necklaces she made, she had talent. We both shared being moms as I have two sons as well. She gave advice like no one else could; (the first time my youngest son called me with what to do being drunk at a party with friends, I called Jan asking what did I do wrong? What advice should I give him to recover from hangover?) I could ask Jan anything and she always had good advice. She was going to show me how to make elderberry syrup. My heart goes out to her boys, she talked about you all the time and was so proud. Great friends are hard to come by. She will live forever in my heart and I will see her again when I go to be with Jesus!

I am so sorry to hear of Jan's passing. She was a dear friend of mine. I met her over 40 years ago when she was hitchhiking down Rt. 81 in the pouring rain and I pulled over and picked her up. We became instant friends, She loved being a mom and because of her compassion for others she excelled at nursing. I love you, Jan, May God
bless you.

I have so many fond memories of growing up around the corner from Jan and the rest of her family. Jan was always a fun person to be with, and when she found her "home" in nursing, she was a caring professional. She will be missed by many from many walks of life - she never met a stranger. She embodied care and compassion.
