Obituary of Henry A. Streiff

Henry A. “Hank” Streiff, 86, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.  He was a lifelong resident of Jamesville, NY. Hank graduated from Jamesville High school, Mohawk Valley Community College, Air Force Reserve and retired from Bristol Myers Squibb after 35 years. Hank visited the love of his life, Alice Giemza, at the Southwood Superette on his lunch breaks from Clark’s Reservation. He loved to be outside.  Hank enjoyed planting, watching his vegetable garden grow, planting trees and moving rocks in his yard. Hank loved watching Yankees baseball and all types of sporting events. One of his favorite past times was riding his John Deere tractor mowing the grass. He was an original member of the Hill ‘n Dale golf league with his favorite hunting & golfing buddy Walter “Chip” Giemza.

Predeceased by his father, Henry Streiff and Nina Cummings, sister, Jeanette Milks.

Survived by his wife Alice (Giemza) Streiff, of 63 years, married at St. Mary’s Church in Jamesville.  Families, Susan (Kyle) Salem, Colin (Ro), Jenna and Shannon; Sandra Streiff (predeceased) Leif (Alyssa) Richmond and Waylon Richmond; Karen (Jack) Conlon and Haberle; Teresa Streiff; Cheryl Streiff (Mike Fisher); Richard (Lisa) Streiff and Mario; Allison (Bobby) Stiles, Layla and Luke; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM, Tuesday, Dec. 6th at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home LaFayette.

A funeral mass will be held on Wed. Dec 7th at 11AM, at Our Lady of Hope (formerly St. James Church)

Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery Jamesville.
