Obituary of Robert Francis Dalton
Robert F. Dalton, 91, of S. Onondaga, died peacefully on Friday, April 21st at St. Camillus. He was born February 1, 1932, to the late Justin (Jess) Dalton and Florence Sherlock Dalton. He served his country proudly in the US Army in the Korean War. He was predeceased by his wife Jeanne (Ward), his sister and brother-in-law Florence and Howard Murphy , his brothers John and Francis, and his later-in-life partner, Clancy.
Robert is survived by his sister-in-law Suzanne Dalton, sons, Robbie, Larry(Julie) and Dwayne (Francine)Ball, nephews Patrick, and Sean(Jamie) Dalton, niece Kathleen(Tom) Brown, nephews, Mark(Peggy), Peter(MaryAnne), Thomas(Molly) and John Murphy. Several great-nieces and nephews and their children.
Robert graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy where he excelled in hockey alongside his brother John. He retired from Onondaga County after 30+ years. Roberts favorite teams were the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, the New York Yankees, and the OCS Tigers. Most importantly, he was a devoted Catholic who lived his life in the service of others.
Special thanks to his niece Kathleen for the care she provided in his final months. Also, a special thanks to the Edinger family for always looking out for Bob.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Hope, the Most Holy Rosary Food Pantry, or the Stack Veterinary Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 26th at 10:00 AM, at Most Holy Rosary church. Burial to follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Syracuse, NY.
