Obituary of Irene June Vastag

Irene June Vastag, 69, of Syracuse, NY, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing. Born in Cortland, NY, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Alice (Bennett) Morgan. She loved animals, crafts, sewing and her family, especially her grandchildren. Irene is survived by her husband of over 45 years, Richard Vastag Sr.; son, Richard Vastag Jr. of Syracuse, NY; daughter, Susan Vastag (James Evans) of Syracuse, NY; brother, Sherman Morgan of Truxton, NY; sister, Sheila Van Dee (David) of Truxton, NY; grandchildren, Jonathan Ramsden and Alexis Vastag both of Syracuse, NY; several nieces and nephews. Irene's family will receive friends on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205.
