Obituary of Richard L. Chard

Richard L. "Rick" Chard, 60, of Syracuse, New York, died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Community General Hospital in Syracuse. Richard was born October 1, 1946 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Robert M. and Virginia (Smith) Chard. He was a 1964 graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy and attended OCC. He was employed by Niagara Scientific-Schroeder Machines in East Syracuse for 30 years and was an Army veteran of Vietnam. He loved traveling, playing pool and classic rock music. Rick's family would like to thank Dr. Richard Cherney and all the staff at Hematology Oncology Associates of CNY. He is survived by his wife of seven years, Vickiann Ryan Chard; two daughters, Erin (Aaron) Sadowski of Syracuse, New York and Heather (John Ketzer) Chard of State College, Pennsylvania; one sister, Judy Burke of Alexandria, Virginia; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerald and Nancy Purkiss Ryan of Binghamton, New York; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marc and Debbie Ryan of Centreville, Virginia; friend and former wife, Jan Chard; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: Monday, April 2, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York.
